Love or Hate SNSD, I hope you read this.

I’d bitch about SNSD a lot. I’d hate them for the smallest things and bash them for the most unworldly reasons. But when I think about it, I’d always realize that I bash and hate for nothing.

I would always realize

That Taeyeon gets criticized for what she does. She may not be the best singer in Kpop but at least, she is one of the better singers out there. She may not be the best leader but I think she’s the best motherly figure.

That although I dislike it whenever male idols are linked to Sica, she would still be my favorite because whenever I watch SNSD shows, her personality kills my hatred. Plus, I’m not the biggest fan of her singing voice but I must admit that she’s got talent.

That Sunny is not just all about aegyo. She’s one of the underrated members and if given the chance to improve her abilities, her singing could be up to par with Taeyeon’s.

That I found Tiffany’s chubby body quite amusing and poked fun at it but I would rather have a chubby Fany than an anorexic-looking one. Some people dislike her for being too American but I would always love her for that.

That Hyoyeon is indeed a great dancer. She may not be an awesome choreographer or may lack variety (in dance steps) but only a few female idols can dance with as much passion as she has.

That while everyone seems to complain that Yuri is overrated, I on the other hand feel like I still don’t get enough of her. People hate on her for being sexy but if you take the time to watch a few of their shows, you’ll realize that being sexy is just part of her job.

That Sooyoung needs more airtime. I hope people realize how amazing Sooyoung is, inside and out. I don’t love her for her long legs. I love her for the way she sings, dances and carries herself on and off camera.

That Yoona may be overrated but it’s not her fault if SME thinks her image is profitable. It’s not her fault she’s got more admirers than haters. And yes, she isn’t the prettiest girl in Kpop; but that’s only a fact when all of them have make-up on. Remove all the make-up on every female idol and then maybe you too will realize how pretty Yoona is.

That Seohyun is the perfect maknae. Even though she’s not really good at pulling off sexy concepts (imo) and often comes off as pure, innocence is one of the best things about her. And even if the innocent image may just be part of the package, at least she does not try too hard to look like the maknae.

That SNSD does not have the best songs and the best choreography but I love them, nevertheless.

That I believe in the Soshi Bond.

I may hate on them all I want but in the end, I would realize that SNSD is and will always be my favorite girl group – no matter how much I try to drown myself in another girl group’s songs and shows; no matter what or how anyone else thinks of them.
