I don’t hate Yoona or anything but, ya’ll need to wake up that her acting sucks. I’m not an expert but I can really tell that acting is totally not her forte. Yes, I love her, I respect her, she’s gorgeous and beautiful but acting isn’t really her thing. Sorry Yoona, just had to be honest.

I wouldn’t call myself an ANTI and I don’t go around bashing them but I don’t particularly like SNSD especially Yoona. I’d go as far to say that I like ALL the other SNSD members except her and the only reason I don’t like SNSD is because of her and my dislike for her is stronger than my like for other members. I honestly tried to like her I even watched some of her dramas and some variety shows but I find her over rated in acting and her singing and dancing are below average I’d admit that she’s pretty but I don’t find anything special about her looks just plain.
I just noticed that Fashion King’s director/staff like to praise Yuri and her acting skills though she is just 2nd female lead while Love Rain’s director/staff like to praise JGS only, they barely praise Yoona though she is 1st female lead.
It annoys me a lot when some people (even Sone) say Yoona acts better than Yuri, Yuri has only 4 facial expressions, blah blah. I’ve watched both dramas, and both are not even my bias but seriously, Yuri is way better actress than Yoona, she did really great job as it’s her first time acting in prime drama as lead. I just imagine if both Yuri/Yoona have to switch their roles, I honestly think Yuri (or anyone else) would pull off Yoona’s role in Love Rain easily cause that role doesn’t require any special acting skill, Yoona plays that role naturally probably because Hana is really similar to Yoona herself, those 1-2 critics who did praise her sure don’t know Yoona real personality, they don’t know that Yoona just acts like her normal self without even trying. While Yuri, I don’t think everyone could easily pull off that role, If Yoona was in it, she would look completely awkward as Anna. You have to admit Yoona’s acting is limited, she can’t act in something far from her real age, she can’t be sexy/fierce/chic…. she can only be pretty/cute/innocent and this type of female lead role is not popular anymore.
I’ve also read an article, talking about the reason why must be JGS-Yoona for Love Rain. The director only talked about SNSD and Yoona’s popularity but he talked about both JGS’s popularity and acting skills. If you watch Love Rain, you’d know that the director really want to show of JGS’s acting skills, he’s leading this drama alone, while Yoona is just someone who is following his role. Unlike Yuri, who is always being praised by director though she just appears like 10 mins per episode.
s!b I just had an argument with my friend because of this. I told her that Yoona got that role because the director want to use Yoona popularity to help boost up their drama to Asian market cause Yoona is really popular not just in Korea and Japan but also in China, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, etc as well. but Yuri got to act is because of her potential as actress. My friend who is hardcore Yoona stan bashed me :( I said this to her without being bias, it’s not like I don’t like Yoona, i’m a Sone too but i’m not delusional fan.
s!b2 Seeing Suzy and Uee grabbed rookie awards at Baeksang awards this year make me quite believe Yuri would be another one who grab this award next year. SBS drama awards, Baeksang awards and new drama as 1st female lead… Yuri’s future as actress is bright (I believe same thing would happen with Sooyoung too once her drama airs) but i’ve got a feeling that this would be Yoona’s last drama, just look at the ratings of her latest project…Cinderella Man, Love Rain. I don’t think she would dare to come out with a new project anytime again.
I don’t like when some ignorant Sone/Kpop fans/Yoona stans keep claiming Yoona as The Most Popular SNSD member when in fact, It’s TAEYEON. Her solo song easily become ALL-KILL, If she was in the same poll with other members (including Yoona) 1st place usual belong to her. That explains a lot that she is the most popular, most loved, most well-known in/outside Kpop. People tends to think Yoona is the most popular probably because she is always at the center but if you notice, the center of idol group are not the most popular one. They standing there because of their looks while the most popular one tend to be the most talented member but barely get a chance to stand in center.
S!B I’m Taeyeon stan, I kept saying to people around me that I don’t care about the position/screentime but frankly, who won’t happy to see their bias standing in the front and get the most spotlight?
I have watched all of Yoona’s dramas, and just like the critics say, her acting in Love Rain has improved a lot. A LOT. (I need to emphasize that.) Her role as Yoonhee was supposed to be demure and the silent-type, and her facial expressions tell the emotions stronger than people give her credit for. I admit I didn’t see the chemistry between Yoona and Jang Geun Suk, but the way Yoona portrays Yoonhee makes me believe that there is more chemistry between Yoonhee and Inha, than Yoonhee and Dongwook. By that alone, I can say Yoona has done a great job portraying Yoonhee. (Though when out of their Love Rain roles, I think Yoona and Kim Shi Hu has more chemistry, hehe.)
And it also saddens me that they compare Yoona and Yuri’s acting skills by ratings alone. I’m sorry, but Yoona is still a better actress than Yuri. It’s just that Fashion King’s plot is more modern, more “relate-able” than that of Love Rain’s (again, I admit that I wasn’t drawn to the 70’s theme and I watched it for the sake of watching Yoona, and that I was more excited with Fashion King than Love Rain), but in the end, I preferred Love Rain over Fashion King. Yuri’s good, but I wouldn’t say she’s better than Yoona.
I’m a Yoonaddict and a Yurisistable, so I would only laugh at those comments saying that I shouldn’t compare them and all that. I am well aware that my biases (the twins) are not perfect and will never be, unlike some fans who praise their biases like they can’t do anything wrong, so I still criticize them, and hope that they improve on their weak points. In fact, I was bit harsh on Yoona in Cinderella Man, she was bad there, to be honest. So I really have my basis on saying that she really improved, not just blind judgement that people think I might be doing.

While other people around me bashing Yoona for being lifeless on kiss scene. I, on the other hand, get turned on because of her. I keep watching this slo-mo-close-up kiss scenes cuts.
